Alli Diet Orlistat Weight Loss Pill

Well, there it is, finally the FDA (U.S. Food & Drugs Administration) approved per feb.'07, Orlistat 60 mg capsules, to market with the brand name Alli™ an 'over-the-counter' weight loss drug for use in the United States.

GlaxoSmithKline, the manufacturer, being a major research-based pharmaceutical and healthcare company, states it as an 'innovative and honest approach to weight loss'. Alli™ is pronounced as 'AL-eye'.

This Alli Orlistat weigt loss drug is approved for use by overweight adults in conjunction with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet, helping people lose 50 percent more weight than with diet alone.

Up to now Alli alli is the only weight loss product available without a prescription that's been apporved bij the FDA and according to the maker, the first clinically proven over-the-counter product to be combined with a comprehensive support program.
It's assumed that this Alli diet medication will be available by summer 2007. So if this a drug you want, then you still have to be a bit patient.

How should you use this Alli drug.
As the maker puts it, the drug is indicated for weight loss in overweight adults 18 years and older when used along with a reduced-calorie, low-fat diet. The recommended dose is one 60 mg capsule 3 times a day with meals containing fat.

Taken with a meal, this weight loss pill works by blocking about 25% of the fat in the food a person eats. Because of the way it works, this medication must be used in conjunction with a reduced calorie, low-fat diet containing about 15 grams of fat per meal.

The guides and information that comes with the medication package assist the consumer to control the amount of fat in their meals, and to follow an appealing, reduced calorie, low fat diet.

When having a meal with too much fat, while taking the drug, can result in bowel changes such as having an urgent need to use the bathroom. These changes, called treatment effects, generally happen in the first weeks of treatment, are not harmful, and can be managed by following the recommended diet with about 15 grams of fat per meal. Users should take a multivitamin once a day, at bedtime, because the Alli drug can reduce the absorption of some vitamins, says maker GlaxoSmithKline.
